The Process

Step 1

Initial contact

Give me a call (02920 020402) or send me an email dan.jones@dhjlegal.com

I will introduce myself and explain the process.  You will be asked to email a copy of the draft settlement agreement to me

Step 2

Agreement Review

Once I have a copy of the settlement agreement I will review it.  This will allow me to understand what is being offered and the terms that are linked to the offer that is being made.  If you have a copy of your contract of employment and any other relevant documentation, such as bonus, commission of long term incentive agreements, then it will be useful for me to review them.

Step 3

Remote consultation

We will discuss your employment situation and I will find out whether you are prepared to accept the terms that are offered or whether further negotiation is appropriate.  I will discuss the terms of the agreement and what they will mean to you.

Step 4

Amendments/negotiation

It is frequently the case that some changes will be required to the draft agreement that you have been provided.  This may be small amendments to certain clauses or it may be major changes ot the main terms of the agreement.  Any approach I make to your employer will be with your consent.

Step 5

Signing

I will arrange for you to sign the agreement before sending it to your employers.  Most employers will accept scanned documents and most smart phones have a scanning capability. I can assist you with this

Step 6

Payment

You will receive payment in accordance with the terms of the Agreement and our fees will be paid directly from your employer.
